A week long holiday in Puri

We started on 18th Jan 2009, Sunday night from Kolkata for Puri by “Puri Express”. The very next day we reached Puri in the morning.   We stayed in “Hari Bhaban”. Our room was at the top floor and we are very lucky to watch the scenic beauty from a high point of view.

We used to go to the “Kakatua Restaurant” for break fast, lunch or dinner as we like the pure vegetarian food of the restaurant. One day we enjoyed by preparing our meal in our holiday home like rice, daal, papad, and vegetable fry.

We went for sight scene on Wednesday and Chilka on Friday. Others day we spent by enjoying the Bay of Bengal – the deep blue water.

On Wednesday we travel by a bus from morning 9 o’clock to night around 10 o’clock. We covered all the spots starting from “Chandrabhaga” river to the “Nandankanan”. We really enjoyed the “Konarak Sun Temple” architecture. From puri we reached to Chilka by a bus. In Chilka we enjoyed the boating in a motorized small boat for about more than three hours. We watched various types of colorful birds and dolphins there. We had our lunch in a small hotel named “Chilka Rani” which is the best hotel in that area and we never forgot the taste of the food in our whole life as that was the worst food experience for us.

Sunday we had a visit to “Lord Jagannath Dev” temple. And that day night we started from Puri for Kolkata by “Puri Express”. The next day i.e. Monday, 26th Jan 2009 we returned back to Kolkata in the early morning.
